Confidence • Character • Creativity • Compassion
Campers explore a musical’s narrative and formulate introspective questions such as,“What are my fears and dreams?” Script reading spurs discussions about issues youth face daily. Creating choreography, designing a set, writing narration, and performing in a musical forms a community of peers and mentors.
Team of Stars integrates life skills training, conflict resolution and musical theater into a combined curriculum, applying the concept of Restorative Practices (RP), a methodology that emphasizes responsibility and accountability within a caring climate. Our success is reflected in both a very high participant retention rate and the children’s smiles.
With each new season, the stage calls and we return to provide a pathway to healthier tomorrows for some of our area’s most vulnerable citizens.
